Samsung, which has been using plastic material for its previous devices, is now finally shifting gears and plans to introduce a new metal casing for its next flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5. The new model will be followed by the launch of Galaxy F, a new premium version.

A Korean publication has recently claimed that Samsung's alleged Galaxy F will feature a metal body and could be launched in 2014 after the release of the highly anticipated Galaxy S5. The source has also revealed that the Galaxy F's metallic prototype was manufactured in Europe and then moved to South Korean tech giant's production unit.

The electronics company has reportedly started the mass production of metal casing for its Galaxy S5. Carrying the model number SM-G900F of the Galaxy S5 device, the Galaxy F could be Samsung's "super premium" variant. Considering that the Galaxy F is said to be a variant of the Galaxy S5 model, it seems that the recent report is referring to the mass production of the Galaxy F.

In addition, the latest update has suggested that the South Korean manufacturer is planning to launch the Galaxy F soon after the upcoming Galaxy S5 hits the market.

Overall, Samsung has plans to release two versions of the Galaxy S5. The two variants include: a variant which would come with the usual plastic body, as found on the previous Galaxy devices, and a new ultra premium variant featuring a metal casing and a flexible OLED. The latest report seems to suggest these models would be the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy F respectively.
