French people will never be able to feast their eyes on Miley - at least not on TV and not before 10 in the evening!

Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA), which is responsible for electronic media regulation in France has announced their stand regarding 'racy' videos - including those of Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears.

Miley's 'Wrecking Ball' music video, which is currently the most viewed VEVO video at over 470 million views, has been deemed not fit for daytime television according to the CSA.

"Cyrus writhing naked around a wrecking ball is too sexually explicit," the French broadcast watchdog said in a report by the AP. The 3:42 music video featured the former Disney star riding a swinging metal ball scantily clad - and at some scenes, naked. Miley is also seen licking a sledgehammer in the 'Wrecking Ball' video.

The French broadcast watchdog has also banned Britney Spears' 'Work B**ch' video for its rather sexual content. According to the institution, the pop princess' music video, released three months ago, shows "a sadomachistic universe representing women in a way that risks shocking many viewers."

Britney and her dancers appear in elaborate yet revealing outfits which usually show off most of their bodies including arms, legs and bellies. But what caught CSA's attention were scenes in which the music artist appears to whip another female, thereby suggesting a 'sadomasochistic' attitude.

Sadomasochism is defined as "the derivation of pleasure from the infliction of physical or mental pain either on others or on oneself."

The CSA further notes that both music videos were televised in some channels 'without any parental guidance warnings."

The institution's restriction on Miley Cyrus' and Britney Spears' music videos only applies to daytime television viewing though. French people will still be able to watch 'racy' videos "after 10pm, when French broadcasters show a range of programming more suited to adults."
