Beautiful actress Rosie Perez is using her star power to endorse a campaign that celebrates the inspirational "everyday" woman who has overcome personal challenges, shown perseverance, and is triumphant in her home and work life. Perez is teaming up with Pine-Sol to promote the new initiative that commends women for the work that they do.

The "When Life Gets Tough, Women Rise Above it" initiative runs throughout the month of January, encouraging women to contribute their stories of triumph to WomenRiseAcoveIt.com, Pine-Sol's collection of stories. Pine-Sol launched the unique campaign after commissioning a survey which revealed that 86 percent of women over the age 35 stated that their role model wasn't a politician or a celebrity, but someone that they knew. Women saw their heroes in their family 60 percent of the time and in their community 24 percent of the time; and 65 percent of women believe that they are a role model to someone in their life. The 1,500 national representatives who took part of the online survey,] included 500 African American women and up to 500 Hispanic women.

"I feel extremely honored to have been given the opportunity to be part of the Pine-Sol 'When Life Gets Tough, Women Rise Above It' movement, celebrating the strong, courageous women who have overcome deep, dark moments in their lives," Perez said. "I can empathize with these stories and admire programs that provide a space for women to come together and share life's challenges, which only make us stronger."

Stephanie Mann, the marketing manager for Pine-Sol, said that women prove to be resilient and resourceful during difficult times, going the distance in order to improve the lives of their families. The project showcases the fact that "women are turning to those closest to them for inspiration... encouraging others to be united and face life's challenges."

Perez-Pine-Sol campaign's survey findings revealed that self-confidence, courage, strength, optimism and grace are admirable traits that women look for when considering someone a hero.

Winners are chosen among those who contribute their stories to the website, and they are awarded tokens of appreciation. Also, three winners will win complimentary house cleaning services for a year. One grand prize will be the lucky recipient of an all-inclusive trip to a spa experience at a luxurious hotel. As part of the program, Pine-Sol will also donate $25,000 to Women Empowered, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles.
