It's official and unstoppable! 1D's 'Midnight Memories' is the next single of the band's latest album of the same name, confirms Liam Payne.

Directioners went wild after 1D member Niall Horan tweeted, "Here is the Payno with some BIG news for you all!" His tweet has been favorite-d over 90,000 times and retweeted 70,000 in just a matter of days.

Niall attached a link to Liam's video announcement confirming the next single for One Direction's 'Midnight Memories' album. The unlisted Youtube video runs for about 19 seconds and has close to half a million views as of writing.

"Our next single is going to be Midnight Memories, which is one of the songs I wrote with Louis," Liam starts off in the video.

"This is the first song we wrote on the album and it paved the way for this whole album sound and the way it all changes," he continued.

"It's a big, big tune, it's all about the midnight memories, everyone got them, so I hope you enjoy it," says Liam in the video.

One Direction has been busy the past week - teasing fans with a few stills from the much-awaited 'Midnight Memories' music video. The official video for 1D's newest single is slated to release Friday, says director Ben Winston in a tweet.

Louis, who has co-written the single with Liam expressed his excitement for the song, tweeting, "So so excited about Midnight Memories being a single. We are very proud of it!" The 1D member also attached a link to iTunes at the end of his tweet.

Based on the sneak peeks that 1D members are dishing out on Tumblr, Directioners can very well expect senior citizens, late night eats and scooters - which all supposedly comprise 1D's midnight memories.

With 'Midnight Memories' off of the band's agenda, One Direction is reportedly working on new music, according to Niall's recent tweet. "Writing time ! #newmusic ! Buzzin! Can't wait t see the lads too!" the 1D member tweeted Monday.
