More and more devices are now receiving Google's latest Android offering, the Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has been five months since the tech giant came out with the updated version of the Lollipop operating system and many users are still waiting for the roll out to appear on their devices.

Among those that will finally get the update on their devices on August 4 are owners of HTC One M9 who are living in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

HTC Product and Service Director of EMEA Graham Wheeler made the announcement on the social networking site Twitter.

"Android 5.1 coming to EMEA HTC One m9 devices tomorrow... enjoy," posted Wheeler.

Other HTC One M9 devices have already received the update. According to GSM Arena, devices from network carriers Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S. have already successfully rolled out Android 5.1 Lollipop. Even the developer edition units of the HTC One M9 have also received the update in June.

It is still unknown whether HTC One M9 units in regions not mentioned are set to receive the update, too. Given that U.S. units already have it and EMEA is set to receive the update beginning tomorrow, it's just but a matter of time before those in other regions can access the update as well.

Meanwhile, Sprint has finally released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This is the latest version of the OS from Google, said Android Police and is already available as an upgrade over-the-air. The device will skip the 5.1 Lollipop update and will go straight to the 5.1.1 version.

According to the changelog, the new update will have the "Message Waiting Indicator fix, Security fix (Stagefright) and miscellaneous bug fixes.)

Last week, Android Police reported that the Stagefright bug exposes a security threat to the device with a simple targeted MMS message. Hackers can gain access to photos and other media in the device with a simple MMS message sent.

Since then, Google has already looked into the issue and is reported to be rolling out further bug fixes to Nexus units next week, with Sprint and Samsung taking the lead.

Droid Life noted that the Galaxy Note 4 from Samsung is actually the first smartphone to receive the fix for the Stagefright bug since it was discovered last week.

Users looking to update their devices will get an update notification when it's ready for download. The size of the Android 5.1.1 update is 615 MB and will see the build number change to N910PVPU4COG5.
