JB's wax figure has been removed from Madame Tussauds at 42nd Street in New York City, says the New York Post. According to the report, the 'Baby' singer's waxwork figure has been excessively groped, fondled and grabbed through the years, leading to signs of wear and some damage

"With no ropes or barriers to stop them, thousands of fans have had their photographs taken with him since then - but it has taken its toll," a source said, referring to Justin Bieber's wax figure.

JB's wax figure was initially revealed simultaneously on March 15, 2011 across three Madame Tussauds - New York, London and Amsterdam.

"I'm honored to be getting my own wax figures at Madame Tussauds New York, London and Amsterdam," JB said at that time. "To be immortalized in wax alongside some of my idols- Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyonce and my mentor, Usher- is incredibly exciting and very cool," he added in a post by the wax studio

According to Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds New York, the wax figure was created by five artists and took 4 to 6 months to complete. Each of the JB wax figures cost the wax studio $250,000 and after about 3 years, time and fans finally took toll on the NYC waxwork.

Now, JB's wax figure is reportedly damaged to the point that "it no longer does justice either to the star or to the attraction," and so the studio "has reluctantly decided to remove it," says the New York Post.

"This is disappointing, but hopefully we can welcome a new 'grown-up' Justin back to the attraction in the near future," Pidgeon said in the New York Post report.

Although there's still no news when the new grown-up Justin Bieber will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds New York, the creation of the waxwork figure will most likely take the same number of months as the previous JB life-size.

JB was reportedly closely involved in the creation of his 17-year old wax figure, says the wax studio, but it is not sure if he will still be as involved in the creation of a new grown-up wax figure of himself now.
