The Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers will face each other on Sunday Night Football. This NFC battle has huge ramifications on the playoff race as well as the two divisions. Both teams are coming off victories, so one win streak has to end.

Carolina Panthers (5-0)

Cam Newton and the Panthers are undefeated after their big win last week over the Seattle Seahawks. The Panthers were able to go into Seattle and get the win on a last minute game-winning drive against the Legion of Boom. Newton is living up to his new contract and No. 1 overall draft pick status, and Greg Olsen is making his case as the best tight end in the game.

As usual the Panthers have a solid defense. They rank in the top 10 in both yards and points allowed this season, and their secondary is forcing a ton of turnovers.

Jonathan Stewart is giving the Panthers the much needed ground game that they need and Ted Ginn is stepping up without Kelvin Benjamin. The Eagles offense turns the ball over frequently, so we should expect the Panthers defense to take advantage of that. Every game for the Panthers is critical with the Atlanta Falcons currently 5-1 in the NFC South.

The Panthers face the Indianapolis Colts next week.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)

Leading the putrid NFC East division at the moment is the Eagles. Chip Kelly's squad has won their last two games, over the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints. It's taking a while, but DeMarco Murray may be figuring out this offense after all. Murray has increased his rushing yardage the last four consecutive games.

With the Dallas Cowboys struggling without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant and the Giants still trying to find their groove, the NFC East is up for grabs. We may very well see an eight win team win this division this season.

The first thing that has to happen for the Eagles is Sam Bradford has to limit his turnovers. Bradford had three interceptions last week in their win over the Giants. Bradford now has nine touchdowns and nine interceptions this season. The Eagles run defense is playing fantastic, but the secondary could improve. The Eagles run defense against the Panthers rushing attack will be the biggest matchup in this one. Riley Cooper will not be playing because of an injury.

The Eagles have a bye week next week.

Schedule

Prediction

Both teams lead their respective divisions, so this is a huge game for both sides. This game is going to come down to turnovers and time of possession. The Panthers should be able to pick up a nice win in a low scoring game and improve to 6-0. Newton's ability to run and stretch the field will make the difference.

Panthers win 23-20
