Saturday's chance to win big money playing Powerball is here.

The grand prize is currently at $255 million, with a cash value of $158.4 million.

Last Wednesday’s winning numbers were 16, 38, 55, 63, and 67, and the Powerball was 25. There were 1,080,894 winners, and $9,852,604 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are nine ways to win at Powerball. There is a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of getting the grand prize, and a 1 in 11,688,053.52 in winning $1,000,000. Powerball players all have a 1 in 38 chance of simply doubling their money on a $2 ticket.

A scandal has occurred at the Powerball offices.

Charles Strutt, the official in charge of overseeing Powerball since its 1992 inception, was removed indefinitely from his post in October. Strutt's removal comes after authorities launched a nationwide investigation into jackpot-fixing that involved his company. Before being dismissed, Strutt was successful enough at his job to have been profiled in Forbes. In an interview he said, “I attribute all my success to my board.”

The Powerball association has been discreet about the firing. Jeff Anderson, the chairman of the board, said he could not comment on the situation as it was a personnel matter.

As the Associated Press reports, the investigation concerns a former security director named Eddie Tipton who allegedly rigged numerous lotteries.

Tipton is accused of fixing lottery drawings in at least four states. Authorities have widened their investigation to include 38 states so far.

Despite the upset at the Powerball headquarters, people are still playing and winning.

As The Morning Call reports, someone in Pennsylvania has just won $1 million in Wednesday's drawing. The ticket was sold in Dauphin County and the winner, who has up to a year to claim the prize, has yet to come forward.
