Sony teamed up with Insomniac Games and Marvel to create this brand-new and authentic Spider-Man adventure.

Marvel's Spiderman is an open-world game that lets you play the web-slinging superhero in the city of New York. It lets you swing through the city, shoot webs at your enemies, throw things at thugs, and throw thugs at other thugs (honestly, the best part!)

It quickly became one of the fastest-selling games of the year after its release on September 7, 2018. The PS4 exclusive game launched a Game of the Year edition that included The City That Never Sleeps DLC.

Pros:

Web swinging gives a sense of freedom and control | Beautiful open-world | Great character performances | Great storyline

Cons:

Familiar open-world structure | Repetitive Animations and Sequences | Occasional awkward camera movement

Days Gone is a PS4 exclusive title that's set in a vast open-world where various hostile factions and zombie hordes (called "freakers") all live together.

Days Gone sees the story of a biker who formerly ran with a fictional gang called the Mongrels. The game offers lots of driving, foraging, sneaking, and fighting. There's also an upgrade tree and a system of power-ups.

The game also involves upgrading your bicycle, which is a simple but oddly satisfying task.

Pros:

Beautiful world setting | Open-ended zombie survival | Zombie hordes

Cons:

Messy story | Minor bugs

The Fallen Order is made by a newly formed team led by God of War III director Stig Asmussen and Apex Legends developer Respawn.

The Fallen Order has the feel of games like Bloodbourne, Uncharted, and The Legend Of Zelda. Combat sequences will remind you of Bloodbourne as they work almost the same way---variations of light and heavy attacks, parrying, and countering to replenish your Force.

Abilities are saved and unlocked via a skill tree at "bonfires". The save points also replenish your stock of health potions and respawn minor enemies.

Pros:

The Lightsaber | Planets are dense and intricate | Challenging without being frustrating

Cons:

Imprecise platforming | Visually rougher | Dull characters

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a game for aggressive players who are ready to get stomped and smashed by numerous enemies.

In Sekiro, you play a shinobi who's on a mission to rescue your kidnapped master. Most of your time is spent cutting down bosses and minibosses across a huge world.

Most bosses can kill you in a couple of hits, and you'll die hundred of times ("rage quit" mode on!) It's more punishing than Dark Souls or Bloodborne, but it's more rewarding too.

Pros:

Aggressive and realistic combat | Clear story with plenty of side quests | Non-linear

Cons:

Shoddy stealth | Recycled bosses | Lack of customization
