Onda Mundial, a community of Latin artists, uplifts Latin American culture in Mexico City, according to a published article in Remezcla

Onda Mundial has helped to boost Latin American culture since they kicked off in August 2019 at Galera. If you happen to visit Mexico or if you live in Mexico, maybe you have heard this community that aims to boost Latin American culture through music.

They throw a party every month that is focused on Latin American acts. During the party, local and well-known Latin American artists gather to celebrate Latin music and culture. This includes artists like Debit, Lechuga Zafiro, F5, Quixosis, La Bruja Texcoco, and many more. This is a celebration not only of one music from one generation but also from the previous generations as well. This is a combination of classical and contemporary music that reflects the diverse culture of Latin Americans.

This is now one of the biggest gathering of Latin artists in Mexico because this is not just a monthly party but it has many aspects that reflect the diversified culture of Latin Americans which is very difficult to boil down into one definition alone.

Lucia Anaya, the co-founder of Onda Mundial, said: "It has now become an infrastructure that connects [the members of] the artistic community who want to develop their projects, and where we can project these new like-minded Latin American talents who can change the global perception of Latino culture."

Moreover, Onda Mundial already has 25 producers coming from different countries in Latin America such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, and more. It is not surprising anymore why this becomes the favorite hub not only of Latin Americans but also by local and international Latin American artists.

This is also an avenue for the younger generation of Latin American artists to collaborate with other local and national artists to learn more about music. Anaya explained that the idea of putting Onda Mundial is to connect producers who came from different places and different backgrounds to experiment and work together. Anaya added: "Many improvised and spontaneous things happen, and those very moments are the best to develop organic, unplanned collaboration."

As mentioned earlier that Onda Mundial is not just about having a monthly party. In January this year, they helped released new music from F5, Exz, Rubinskee, and Quixosis. With this Anaya said: "Michael Rucker felt it was important to build a catalog of music made in Latin America that reflects its current panorama. "I think in 10 years we'll look at our past productions and have a musical picture of what happened [back then] and how things evolved."

The next big thing that they are planning at present is to bring Onda Mundial outside Mexico. They plan to land in the United States and Europe this year. It is not possible to achieve the group's objective since they have a well-experienced team that can help to uplift the community through music.

The Onda Mundia is expected to unit the Latin artists and will help their fellow artists most especially the younger generations to develop their music genre without leaving behind their roots of culture and tradition.
