Esapekka Lappi's main goal next week for the World Rally Car in Mexico is to have a podium. Lappi has a strong start in the WRC and many believe that he will continue its momentum using his M-Sport Ford Fiesta.

World Rally Car (WRC) was built by the M-Sport World Rally Team and has continued to become one of the leading car racing events in the world.

Many WRC fans are very excited for the third rally will happen in Mexico and one of the rally drivers that is expected to dominate the event is Esapekka Lappi.

Lappi is a Finnish rally driver who achieved a lot at his young age. He was the Finnish Rally Champion in 2012, European Rally Champion in 2014, and WRC-2 Champion in 2016. At present, he is competing in the World Rally Championship for M-Sport Ford WRT.

It is not surprising anymore why many fans and rally drivers are excited to see him in Mexico next week for the third rally of WRC.

Early this year, Lappi did a strong five finishes and he believed that he is capable to keep his strong start of the season to North America.

In an article published in The Checkered Flag, he said that every time he gets in his wheels, he is learning more to fine-tune the set-up of his car that best suits his way of driving. He also added We worked on a few things in Sweden and continued that at the pre-event test last week. We've not been too far off challenging for the podium, and I think that has to be our goal in Mexico."

He is said that he is getting more confident in driving his Ford Fiesta but he admitted that the rally in Mexico is quite tricky so he needs to be clean and efficient in driving. One of the things that he needs to consider in the rallying place is the altitude which means that he needs to run his car with less power and small mistakes will lead him to a longer recovery.

Despite this, the Finn driver is confident and said that he feels good and will do everything that he can because their top priority right now is to have the podium next week.

This is also a big challenge for Lappi because even though he won championships in several rally competition, he twice struggles in the Mexican rally. He placed 11th in 2018 while driving for Toyota and he finished 13th place last season using Citroen.

The third round of the 2020 FIA World Rally Championship will take place from March 12-15 in Mexico and Lappi is expected to give his fans a good race.

He will be competing with Gus Greensmith who said recently that Mexico is his favorite WRC place. He finished second during the WRC2 and is one of the best competitors of Lappi.

Greensmith said: "I'm a huge fan of Rally Mexico and it's probably my favorite place to visit on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar. The scenery and colors of Guanajuato and the enthusiasm of the fans provide a truly special experience for everyone and I can't wait to get back there."
