After months of fan demand, complaints and outrage, confusing international listings and endless gossip, Rockstar Games has finally announced the release of Grand Theft Auto V for PC, Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One this week.

As some predicted, Rockstar Games made its announcement during the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

"Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail," the game developer announced via its Newswire page. "Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North's epic reimagining of Southern California."

According to Rockstar Games, the new versions of Grand Theft Auto V will have "game world enhancements," including new weather effects, new damage effects and new animals.

"The new generation upgrades also extend to Grand Theft Auto Online, an ever-evolving Grand Theft Auto universe," Rockstar Games said. "All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for the PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One and PC with much more to come."

The games can be pre-ordered here. Each game is priced at $59.99.

Unfortunately, some very important details about the games are still missing. Rockstar Games has failed to mention a specific release date beyond "this fall." In addition, PC requirements have not been named either. Still, based on the amount of attention gamers have given to any news surrounding Grand Theft Auto V on new platforms, players should find at least some comfort in the highly anticipated announcement.
