A 21-year-old McDonald's cashier in Brazil was nearly shot dead by a fireman who was upset over an 83 cents Big Mac discount.

According to Daily Mail, McDonald's cashier Mateus Carvalho was manning the fast-food restaurant's drive-thru window in Rio de Janeiro on May 9 when off-duty military firefighter Paulo de Souza arrived at around 2 a.m.

De Souza then repeatedly honked his horn at the driver, who was being serviced in front of him. The fireman had placed a promotional order for a Big Mac meal and got upset when Carvalho told him that he could not validate the coupon as the order was already in the system.

The McDonald's cashier noted that he would have called the manager if De Souza had waited a minute. Carvalho said: "I was shot over 83 cents," as he detailed that the coupon offered a difference of 83 cents.

McDonald's Cashier in Brazil Shot Over a Big Mac Coupon

Paulo de Souza stood outside the drive-thru pickup window and started punching Mateus Carvalho in the face. The McDonald's cashier then reached through the window and punched the fireman.

After he left his vehicle parked in the driveway, De Souza walked towards the side entrance and pushed his way through who appeared to be an employee and a customer as he held his firearm out.

The fireman then proceeded to the back of the McDonald's area, where he confronted Carvalho and shot him in the stomach.

The McDonald's cashier was rushed to a hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery on him after the bullet struck his left kidney, which was eventually removed.

The bullet also made contact with the large intestine and remained lodged in the back. Carvalho has to use a colostomy back due to his injuries and is scheduled to be back in the hospital in July for an operation to remove the bag.

De Souza fled the scene and was placed in custody on Friday after he turned himself in. The fireman is currently facing an aggravated attempted murder charge.

Another Disturbance at McDonald's

In Florida, a pregnant woman threw a violent tantrum inside a McDonald's branch after being upset about the workers not making her order fast enough.

According to reports, Tianis Jones, 22, who made a drive-thru at the Lakeland branch on Thursday, was reportedly arrested by authorities. The Florida woman immediately stormed inside after becoming enraged at the time it was taking to get her order.

Pol County Sherriff's Office's Sherriff Grady Judd said Jones placed a special order online. However, the staff got a few things wrong when she arrived at the drive-thru, so they asked Jones to wait while they fixed her order.

Judd said the Florida woman "got McMad" as she waited for her order. Jones walked inside the branch up to the main counter, where she started complaining to an employee.

After about a minute, she began to be violent and threw a small plastic sign and several bottles at the worker. The Florida woman also walked behind the counter and threw cups onto the ground and at workers.

Judd said Jones hit some of the workers as she threw things at them. Jones claimed she was waiting at least 15 minutes for her food order to be resolved, adding that the food was worth $25. Before leaving the restaurant, Jones lifted her shirt and exposed her pregnant belly. She then turned her back to the counter and "twerks."

The Florida woman was said to have caused about $100 worth of damage. She was booked at the Polk County Jail, facing charges of burglary with assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and misuse of 911.
