Prince Harry will be around during ceremonial events honoring Queen Elizabeth II next week, but he will not be allowed to wear his military uniform.

According to Cosmopolitan, the same measure was also applied to the Queen's son, Prince Andrew. However, it was later withdrawn, and an exception was made for the Duke of York. Andrew was stripped of his titles after he faced sexual abuse allegations that linked him to disgraced sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Royal reporter Omid Scobie reported that only working members of the royal family will wear military uniforms for ceremonial events honoring the Queen. Reports said there will be procession and service in Edinburgh, coffin procession to Westminster Hall, vigil, state funeral, and final committal in Windsor next week.

The royal reporter noted that Andrew will be allowed to wear his uniform during the Queen's final vigil at Westminster Hall "as a special mark of respect." He then said Harry will not be allowed to wear his military uniform, saying it was "no doubt a huge blow for the Duke of Sussex."

Prince Harry served for 10 years and has done "an enormous amount of military duty." He had served two tours in Afghanistan and recently spoke of the Queen being his "commander-in-chief."

Prince Harry Sad Not Wearing Military Uniform in Queen Elizabeth II's Funeral

CBS News contributor Roya Nikkhah said that people will see the difference between " very public " and "who is a working royal and who is not."

Queen Elizabeth II decided during Prince Philip's funeral last year that every family member should wear suits so that "everyone was on a level playing field." However, King Charles III has taken a different approach to this occasion.

Nikkhah said the Queen's funeral is the first state funeral of a monarch since 1952. She noted that the newly ascended king wanted to get everything "absolutely technically right." The royal contributor said the Queen's four children will be standing on the four sides of her coffin.

On the other hand, none of the grandchildren will stand vigil for the Queen, Page Six reported. One royal source noted that Prince Harry "will be saddened not to wear his military uniform to the Queen's funeral."

Queen Elizabeth II Funeral

The U.K. government advises people not to wait or camp out along the route where Queen Elizabeth II's coffin will be brought to London. The Queen's coffin is currently in St. Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh.

The Queen will lie in state in the capital from Wednesday until Monday. Meanwhile, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla were at St. Giles' Cathedral. CNN reported that other members of the royal family were also there, such as the King's siblings.

Scotland said it "stands ready" to support the newly ascended king as he continues his mother's legacy of public service, according to Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Sturgeon noted that the Queen has been "the anchor" of their nation while praising the Queen's wisdom and dedication in doing her duties.

The Scottish parliament had a two-minute moment of silence to honor the Queen while King Charles III and his wife were present. The public was allowed to stay outside the cathedral to pay their respect.
