Lionel Messi seems to be living his life to the fullest now that he is with Inter Miami, and former Argentina teammate Javier Mascherano has noticed it.

According to GOAL, the former Argentina National Team midfielder recently spoke about Lionel Messi in an interview and hailed his former teammate as the best in the world. He also suggested that going to the US might be the best thing to happen to his fellow Argentinian.

"After the World Cup, Messi has already settled any debate (over the greatest player)," the player-turned-coach said. "Messi is the greatest player my eyes have seen. Messi looks very happy in Miami, not only enjoying his football, but in life and with his family, and that's something that might have been difficult in another place."

Before he came to Inter Miami, he turned down lucrative deals with his former team, FC Barcelona, as well as what could have been a billion-dollar agreement with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal. Mascherano suggested that should he have taken any of the other two deals, Messi might not be as happy as he is now.

When Messi arrived at Inter Miami, the team was considered one of the worst teams in Major League Soccer. However, with Messi now wearing the club's pink jersey proudly, the team has been on a tear recently and has remained undefeated since La Pulga's arrival.

Lionel Messi Powers Inter Miami During First Road Win in Dallas

Messi has shown that despite being already in his late 30s, he still got it as he helped Inter Miami squeeze a victory against FC Dallas.

With the victory, Inter Miami has moved up the League Cup standings, though the match against Dallas was certainly not easy as their Texas-based opponents were leading throughout most of the game. Messi scored twice, including an equalizer in the match's 85th minute. The game ended with a tie though FC Miami held out on penalty kicks.

Lionel Messi Left FC Dallas Owner Starstruck

Dan Hunt, the owner of Inter Miami opponent FC Dallas, admitted that he was starstruck when his team faced off against Messi and his team. The Daily Mail noted that he had nothing but praises for the Argentinian megastar.

Hunt reportedly compared Messi to the GOAT of basketball himself, Michael Jordan, saying, "It's like watching Michael Jordan. You're looking at one of the two greatest players of all time in that experience. So yeah, this is a great moment for FC Dallas."

Hunt has some Jordan connections, too, as his family was one of the founding investors of the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan's former team.
