It's official. Apple will be hosting a press event on Oct. 22, where the newest iPads will likely be revealed.

"We still have a lot to cover," the colorful invitation reads.

Invitations sent to the media today confirmed that the press event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

The event invitations, which come just a little bit over a month after the release of Apple's iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, promise to deliver even more to electronic consumers. It is probable that Apple will use an iPad 5 and new iPad mini to do that.

The event should confirm whether or not MacG, a French blog, accurately reported the release dates for the iPad 5, iPad mini, MacBook Pro and Mac Pro.

The blog claims the iPad 5 and iPad mini will be released Oct. 30 or Oct. 31. The MacBook Pro will allegedly be released Oct. 24 or Oct. 25, while the Mac Pro is suspected to be launched on Nov. 15.

The fifth-generation iPad is expected to be thinner and lighter, while still maintaining its 9.7-inch display. Apple's tablet will also use the new 64-bit A7 chip.

Meanwhile, the iPad mini is also predicted to operate with the 64-bit A7 chip and be upgraded with retina display, an Apple-created term that the company defines as pixel density "so high the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels from a normal viewing distance, so text and graphics look incredibly sharp."

Providing the public with iPad minis with Retina display, however, could cause distribution problems for Apple.

More questions will hopefully be answered after next week's event.
