Eva Longoria and Richardo Antonio Chavira, who starred as Gabrielle and Carlos Solis on the now retired smash hit Desperate Housewives, reunited on the third episode of the NBC series Welcome to the Family.

Chavira stars as Miguel Hernandez. He is the father to Junior (Joey Haro), an intelligent 18-year-old who has just impregnated his girlfriend, derailing his plans to go to Stanford. The show captures the clash of a white family and a Latino family, and the struggles that they face as they attempt to blend their resistant families.

Eva Longoria guest stars as Ana Nunez, Miguel's ex-girlfriend and English teacher to Hernandez's smaller son. In reminiscing about the past with his Ana, Miguel sparks the jealousy of his wife Lissette (Justina Machado), who is becoming growingly self-conscious as she is about to become a grandmother. Lisette, out of spite, tells her son that he doesn't have to do the homework that Ana assigns, which prompts a parent-teacher conference.

Longoria only appears in two scenes on the episode entitled "The Big RV Adventure," and it aired on October 17. Chavira teased about the guest appearance on his twitter page in mid-August saying, "And in an upcoming episode of NBC Welcome to the family a special guest star appearance from a former Housewife??? Stay tuned..."

The episode marks a year and a half anniversary since they were last seen on-screen together, which was on the Desperate Housewives finale, which aired in May of last year.

Many, including the San Antonio Express-News, say it was the best episode of the series so far, but unfortunately, it was announced on October 18, 2013 that Welcome to the Family had been canceled.
