One man's Xbox One is another man's treasure, especially if it's coated in 24 carats of gold.

A Reddit user discovered that Harrods department store in London is apparently selling a 24-karat gold-plated version of Microsoft's Xbox One for £6,000, or about $8,253 United States dollars.

So what does a couple thousand dollars get you at Harrods? It seems the price jump gets you nothing more than a regular Xbox One covered in gold. It is not clear whether or not the gold Xbox One comes with any accessories. One would hope so, however, since a regular Xbox One comes with a wireless controller, a Chat Headset, a 4k enabled HMDI cable and a Kinect One at slightly less than the gold Xbox One: starting at $499.

Whoever becomes the lucky owner of Harrods' Xbox One might have the only gold system, but he or she will just be one in over 2 million to own the brand new console. Last week, Microsoft announced that 2 million Xbox One consoles have been sold since its Nov. 22 release. According to the company, the Xbox One is selling an average of over 111,111 units a day, and gamers have spent over 83 million hours enjoying the video game console.

"We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response from our fans. We are thrilled to see sales of Xbox One on a record-setting pace, with over 2 million Xbox One consoles in homes around the world," Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of strategy and marketing, Xbox, said. "Demand is exceeding supply in our 13 launch markets, and Xbox One is sold out at most retailers."

Retailers agree that the Xbox One is going fast this holiday season. Amazon, Walmart and GameStop announced that they were working on re-stocking the fast-selling system in time for the holidays.

According to a Michael Pacter,Wedbush Securities analyst, the Xbox One will lose the console war unless it makes its price comparable to the PS4. The Xbox One starts at $499, and the PS4 starts at $399. Pachter probably did not consider gold-plated systems in his calculations, however.
