Kevin Durant may have debuted his signature shoe collection in December of 2008, but it has always been recognized for its imaginative combination of different hues – all to represent the personal stories of the internationally famous six-time All Star basketball icon, as pointed out by Nike. That said, the all-new KD 7 “What The” features a mash-up of interesting colors, graphics, and patterns that make the KD 7 collection popular.

The much awaited KD 7 “What The” collection can be availed all over the world on June 20 at select Nike stores for $200. Those who would want to make the purchase on the Internet can also check sizes on eBay.

This particular shoe design has 18 different color schemes – all of which have been fused into one unique design. It has a special forefoot strap that will prevent the wearer’s foot from edging out of the shoe. Plus, to make the KD 7 “What The” strap even more interesting, some designs were integrated to both of its sides.

The strap’s left side showcases an Aunt Pearl angel wing, which honors Durant’s late aunt. The right strap, meanwhile, pulls from the color way that was used for KD 7 All-Star, which was further inspired by the progressive architecture of the Big Apple.

KD 7 “What The” also features a lightning icon, a reference to Durant’s fascination with meteorology. Plus, this particular theme also influences other color schemes that can be found all throughout the KD 7 “What The” design, such as the hues that reflect lightning graphics. They also further contribute to the glow-in-the-dark features that can be found on the shoe’s Hyperposite heels.

Even Christmas themes were not absent in this latest addition to the KD 7 footwear collection. On the inner lining of the KD 7 “What The,” a muted reference to the Eggnog pair can be seen.

But KD fans are divided when it comes to their reception of the “What The” design.

“Anyone buying this is doing it straight off hype and resale value because this shoe is HORRIBLE!” an Internet user wrote on Sneaker News' comment section.

“I am not buying it for hype or resale,” another responded. “I am buying it for the creativeness of the show. They killed it on detail. Regardless of your taste and opinion, others have their own.”
