Joan Smalls is not one to shy away from experimenting with lipstick color, and now her fans can join in the fun. The Puerto Rican model teamed up with beauty giant Estée Lauder to create a collection of lipsticks inspired by her personal style.

The Pure Color Envy Lipstick collaboration was something Smalls said came about because of the reactions she gets from fans on her lipstick selfies on social media, especially after wearing a shade of bright purple to the 2014 Met Gala.

"I started seeing people tag me after the Met Gala," Smalls told Vogue. "I was like, 'This is so cool. People are really reacting to it in a very positive way.'"

The brand made the announcement on its Instagram account with a picture of the Latina wearing one of her signature lip colors.

"I'm very hands-on when I'm involved with something," Smalls explained about her part in the collaboration. The 27-year-old, who is also a brand ambassador for Estée Lauder and featured in the brands beauty campaigns, made sure to include her Instagram followers in the collaboration.

The 12 color collection includes a black cherry shade called Commanding, named by her followers, a pink one called Neon Azalea, Extrovert, an eggplant-inspired color, and Shameless Violet, which is similar to the shade Smalls wore at last year's Met Gala, reports Stylcaster.

"It's all about self-expression," Smalls said about wearing the bold shades. "Just go with your heart and your mood. If you don't want to go as bold, pat it down with a tissue and use it as a tint."

The collection, unlike the limited edition shade in collaboration with Kendall Jenner, will be a permanent part of the Esteé Lauder beauty line. Smalls, who explained she hasn't always worn lipstick, believes lipstick allows women to experiment.

"You shouldn't have certain rules or restrictions," she said. "It's like painting: You have to have fun with it!"
