The eighth and final season of long-running medical drama "Royal Pains" won't air until next summer, but fans are already eager to learn what will happen during the forthcoming season.

With just eight episodes in the show's future, millions will tune into the final episodes of the USA network series, keeping up with the concierge doctor and his friends as they tend to the elite, rich and famous of Hamptons. Hank (Mark Feurstein), Evan (Paulo Costanzo), Paige (Brooke D'Orsay), Divya (Reshma Shetty) and Boris' (Campbell Scott) appear on the hit series, which is produced by producers Michael Rauch and Andrew Lenchewksi.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rauch and Lenchewski indicated that they're already working to make the show's finale unforgettable and impressive, and plan to make it the best episode of the entire series. The story leads will have impressive arcs and both Hank and Jeremiah will finally find love during the eighth season, like Divya may have at the end of Season 7, although many speculate that she's destined to be with Jeremiah.

Last fall, the showrunners were fearful that they wouldn't be able to give the show the ending that it deserved when the USA network stalled renewal of the series. However, USA ordered to two final eight-episode seasons.

"The thought of not being able to end a show that we love and characters whom we love so much with the proper ending would have been heartbreaking," says Rauch.

"We want to seize this opportunity and make assumptions that the end of season eight will be the end of the series so that we can plan accordingly," Lenchewiski told THR last year.

The impending finale is bittersweet for the show creators, but they've been able the plot the perfect end point for each character.

"We have -- and have always had -- notions about where it would be nice to see where each of these characters' journeys end, but we never allowed ourselves to become beholden to those ideas," said Lenchewski according to THR. "We really allow ourselves to follow the detours that pop up along the way, whether it's because we cast a new character and fall in love with the actor or whether it's because we find a new medical story that allows for new stories or just because we wake up with a brand new great idea that we never thought of before. I think for these last two seasons that's more true than ever. We are really excited for these end points that we've plotted."

Apparently, the show creators will drop "little treats" from earlier seasons; also tension will build between characters, the good kind and the bad.

Royal Pains returns Tuesday at 10 p.m. on USA next summer.
