Fans of the wildly popular Five Nights at Freddy's video game series will be excited to learn that developer Scott Cawthon announced on Steam Tuesday that he is releasing a new game titled FNAF World, which is a RPG that will launch on Android, iOS and PC.

Cawthon does not want fans to consider FNAF World a fifth installment of the Five Nights at Freddy's game series.

"It's very important for me to say again that there will NOT be a Five Nights at Freddy's 5. The story is complete, and the Halloween update and new game will not add to it," he wrote.

FNAF World is a role-playing game that features popular characters from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.

"It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week," Cawthon explained.

The new game's scope is more complex than FNAF predecessors, and for that reason, Cawthon doesn't have any promotional materials or demonstrations for fans yet, but he promised one as soon as possible.

On Cawthon's Steam thread, fans have asked if the game will be multiplayer and free, two questions the developer has not yet answered.

Meanwhile, "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie director Gil Kenan has released images and a video teasing the movie set and showing a test animatronic.

Cawthon has also announced that in October, Five Nights at Freddy's 4 will receive a "Halloween content update" complete with a cheat menu.
