The Diablo 3-maker has never mentioned an Xbox One release for Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition until Blizzard Entertainment producer Alex Mayberry reveals that devs are actually developing the said title simultaneously for both platforms.

Speaking with VideoGamer, the Blizzard Entertainment producer said that he can't really comment on what the contract looks like as he doesn't know where they are with Microsoft right now. "The point is we are developing for Xbox One and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run," he told the outlet.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, which includes the original Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls expansion, has been confirmed to drop on the PS4. Blizzard Entertainment has even confirmed that gamers can get their hands on the title at the PAX East event on April and grill devs on questions regarding the title, but previously did not mention an Xbox One release.

VideoGamer notes that the current scenario is the same as Diablo 3's launch on last-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 wherein the title "was originally announced for PS3 but later confirmed to launch simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PS3."

Mayberry told VideoGamer that the past launch somehow proves that the team is quite capable of a simultaneous release on both platforms. "We've already done it with the 360 and PS3, so that team knows how to develop at the same time for both of those platforms. That's just what we do. And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out," he told the outlet.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition has no confirmed release date for the PS4 yet but nzgamer.com reports that the title drops sometime this year. In an earlier report by Polygon, the PS4 title will reportedly run 60 fps on 1080p native resolution and have better graphic shaders, more monsters, better loading time and touchpad support.
