Adele sold 3.38 million copies of her new album "25" in the first week of its release.

The "Hello" singer's new album also debuted at number on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Billboard.

Adele seems to have broken two records with this feat with "25" earning the largest single sales week for an album since Nielsen started tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991, and it was also the first album to sell over 3 million copies in a week.

The singer's new album has surpassed other previously held records as well, such as the one-week sales record achieved by *NSYNC's "No Strings Attached." The boy band had sold 2.42 million copies of this album in March 2000.

Adele's "25" has also been dubbed the biggest selling album of 2015, beating out Taylor Swift's hugely successful "1989," which sold 1.287 million albums in its first week last year. The only album that has come close to competing with Adele's new album is Justin Bieber's "Purpose."

The singer released her third studio album on Friday, Nov. 20. Some producers who worked on the album include Paul Epworth, Danger Mouse, Max Martin, Linda Perry, Mark Ronson and Ryan Tedder. It is the follow-up to 2011's "21," which won the 2012 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. This album produced the singles "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone like You," "Set Fire to the Rain," "Rumour Has It" and "Turning Tables."

Adele has been promoting her new album and recently made appearances on "Saturday Night Live" with Matthew McConaughey, who served as the host of the show, and on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." She also performed a one-night-only exclusive show at Radio City Music Hall on Nov. 17 called "Adele Live in New York City." The performance was recorded and will air on Dec. 14 on NBC.
