It is official, the bad boy of Uruguay soccer is reuniting with his former FC Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi as it has officially been announced that Luis Suarez is coming to Inter Miami.

The BBC reported that the legendary Uruguayan striker has officially signed with Inter Miami for a 1-year contract. This means that he not only reunites with Messi but his other former FC Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba as well.

"I look forward to reuniting with great friends and players," the former Uruguay team captain said in a statement. "I'm very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami."

"I can't wait to get started and I'm ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club a reality," he added. "I'm optimistic about what we can achieve together with our shared ambition."

Meanwhile, Inter Miami chief business officer Xavier Asensi is welcoming the bad boy of Uruguayan soccer with open arms, saying that the former Liverpool striker signing with them is "another monumental moment" for the MLS club.

Suarez has won league titles with various teams, including Nacional, Ajax, and Atletico Madrid. He left Brazilian side Gremio earlier and helped the club have a second-place finish in the Brazilian Serie A's 2023 season. Despite his age, he was voted the league's best player this year as well.

However, his career is best known for his time in FC Barcelona as he formed the much-feared frontline called MSN or Messi Suarez Neymar. The Argentinian, the Uruguayan, and the Brazilian, all South Americans, dominated European soccer and won the UEFA Champions League together in the process.

Some of Luis Suarez's Contract Details With Inter Miami Revealed

As for how long the Uruguay Bad Boy, best known for his antics on the field, will be in Miami, it was revealed that he has a one-year contract with the MLS team. This means that he will be playing for the US side throughout the 2024 MLS season.

However, sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Suarez also has an option in the contract that can extend it to 2025, which means he could stay with Inter Miami even longer if he wants to.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Suarez will be turning 37 in January but he is still going strong, leading Gremio to the Campeonato Gaúcho and Recopa Gaúcha, scoring 24 goals in 45 appearances.

Luis Suarez Signing Furthers the 'Barcelona-fication' of Inter Miami

Inter Miami already has three former FC Barcelona players on its roster, with the biggest name, of course, being Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez will be the fourth former Barca player to sign with the MLS team, with many commenting about the so-called "Barcelona-fication" of the club.

As NBC Miami pointed out, however, the current manager coaching the club, Gerardo "Tata" Martino, is also a former FC Barcelona coach himself, furthering the talks of "Barcelona-fication" happening within the squad.

As many joked, all that is missing now may be Brazilian forward, Neymar, who is currently playing in Saudi Arabia, and MSN would be complete once again.
