The Best New Movies and TV Shows Coming to Netflix November
Sexy male strippers, fighting a zombie-like virus, observing gorillas, and feigning curiosity over an aging gigolo -- these are some of the stories that will keep you entertained as they are coming to Netflix for the month of November.
Here is a glimpse and guide to some of the films, TV shows and documentaries coming to Netflix.
In "Fading Gigolo," Sofia Vergara co-stars with Woody Allen, John Turturro, and Sharon Stone in the movie dropping on Nov. 5. Turturro, who stars and also directs, plays Fioravante, who decides to become a professional Don Juan. He does it so that he can make money to pay his bills and help out his friend Murray, played by Allen. The whole thing gets out of control when Murray becomes his manager, and the lines between love, money and friendship become blurred. Vergara plays one of Turturro's trists.
Vergara will verse her beau Joe Manganiello for Netflix views, as his documentary "La Bare" shimmies its way onto Netflix on Nov. 12. It is about the history and lives of La Barre, one of the most popular all-male strip clubs in the world, located in Dalla, Texas.
For a documentary the entire family could enjoy, there is "Virunga." It takes place in the forested area of the eastern Congo. A group of park rangers and three unlikely people -- an ex-child soldier-turned-ranger, a carer of orphaned gorillas and a Belgian conservationist -- band together to stop illegal poaching, armed militia and other challenges trying to control Virunga National Park, a habitat for mountain gorillas.
If you did not get a chance to see the Academy Award-nominated "Nebraska," now is your chance. The somber Midwestern dramedy, along with its compelling black and white photography and winning performances, debuts on the streaming giant on Nov. 8.
If a TV series is more your speed, Netflix's original series "Lilyhammer" is returning. "Lilyhammer" is about a New York mobster who has to flee to rural Lillehammer, Norway after he testifies against his former associates. Season 3 of "Lilyhammer" arrives to Netflix on Nov. 21.
Netflix will also make episodes of Syfy Channel's zombie-esque TV series "Helix" available. The show is about a group of scientists who are sent to investigate an Arctic station that has been exposed to a deadly virus. The show is like the 1982 "The Thing" and "The Walking Dead," with "Battlestar Galactica" overtones."Helix" comes on Nov. 10.
For a disaster movie, check out "Snowpiercer," which just recently finished its run in movie theaters. It stars Chris Evans, along with BAFTA and Academy Award nominated and winning actors and actresses such as Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer and Tilda Swinton.
