Shoppers are preparing for the much anticipated Black Friday sales and there will be plenty of people looking to get their hands on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 game consoles.

Microsoft and Sony enjoyed great success with the opening day launches as both companies managed to sell more than one million units. The hype surrounding both consoles has grown so much that the question still remains: Which one is better than the other?

As it stands, the Xbox One has built a reputation for being perhaps the most comprehensive gaming entertainment center in history while the Playstation 4 has focused more on the game play aspect. Heading into Black Friday, USA Today's Mike Snider said that 30 percent of active gamers prefer the Playstation 4 while 22 percent are looking to buy an Xbox One.

Snider helped dissect both game consoles and explained the most significant differences in a way that helps shoppers compare and contrast the two in order to make the best decision on which game console to buy.

"The system's interactive guide can integrate all your offerings - TV, games, apps - in one menu if you connect your pay TV settop box to Xbox One with an HDMI cable," he said. "Using the next generation Kinect sensor, included with each Xbox One, you can control most on-screen choices such as "Watch ESPN" with your voice. And you can set up the system to turn on your TV, settop box, audio/video receiver and Xbox One with the "Xbox On" command."
