Sofia Vergara became the 2,551st star to be featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday.

The Colombian actress is being honored for her work on the comedy "Modern Family," according to Variety.

Vergara's star will be right next to her on-screen husband Ed O'Neill's star.

The ceremony took part at 11:30 a.m. local time in Hollywood. She was joined by "Modern Family" co-star Eric Stonestreet and the show's co-creator and executive producer, Steven Levitan.

"It is such an honor to be given this recognition," Vergara wrote on her website, sofiavergara.com.

Vergara's new movie "Hot Pursuit" opens Friday. The movie features Vergara and Reese Witherspoon, with the Latina actress also serving as an executive producer for the movie.

Witherspoon said she was impressed by Vergara's hard work ethic.

"I was so blown away by Sofia's work ethic," Witherspoon said, according to Variety. "She is an incredibly hard worker. While we were filming 'Hot Pursuit' she was acting and producing the film, finishing her TV show and doing photo shoots on the weekends for her many different corporate endorsements. She's a true powerhouse."

Vergara just finished her sixth season of "Modern Family" and has been busy planning her wedding with "Magic Mike" star Joe Manganiello.

"It never crossed my mind that I could get something like that," Vergara says. "That I would be thought of for (the Walk of Fame). That I could be someone who would be part of that is a very big surprise for me. In Colombia, they are ecstatic."

Vergara spoke in front of the Marshalls store at 7013 Hollywood Boulevard. The free event was open to anyone to attend, according to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The event was also be streamed live on www.walkoffame.com.
