2K Sports has officially phased out NBA 2K13 game servers as gamers look to focus solely on the most recent release, NBA 2K14.

The move was not a surprise by any means and 2K Sports had warned gamers ahead of time so that it was not too sudden.

"The #NBA2K13 server has been discontinued," 2K Support said on Twitter. Players will no longer be able to play ranked games/online leagues."

In other news, Ronnie 2K announced on Monday that there are new locker codes coming in this week, which is good news for gamers who have been on the newest NBA 2K14 game.

"Unlocked & exp. Wednesday- Random Shoes #LockerCodes PS4/XB1: N14PS-AQX4Q-17G5V-7V3TF-BJ7UA PS3/360: N14PS-WEG64-PYQ1P-BHX8N-NLZ5N," he wrote on Twitter.

NBA 2K14 is also wrapping up a 25 percent sale on all Virtual Currency on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 that started on March 28.

The NBA 2K14 video game was one of the most popular sports games of all time and gamers enjoyed it even more than they seemed to enjoy the previous NBA 2K13 version of the game. With LeBron James on the cover, the game was as popular as ever. It will certainly be interesting to see how next year's version comes out and whether or not it can match the success of NBA 2K14.

Even with LeBron on the cover, other famous athletes such as Kevin Durant have tweeted about the game to make it even more popular.
