2K Sports have been throwing in bits and pieces about its upcoming basketball title for next generation consoles Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One: the NBA 2K14. Today it announced yet another ground breaking technology that will bring bball simulation gaming to a whole new level.

Over the past few days, 2K Sports have been posting several gameplay images and short explanations about the next-gen game and its new features. So far, it has confirmed that a new MyTEAM with more options will be included, as well as a new feature called NBA Today will be bundled with the video game. However, today, game publishers announced a new technology incorporated within the game that they claim has never been seen before.

"The team here at 2K has seen a lot over the years, and experienced countless new system launches. But we've never seen one like this year, with the launch of PS4," Ronnie Singh, Senior Community Manager for 2K Games, wrote on PlayStation's official blog. "With that said, 2K is excited to unveil the all-new Eco-Motion Engine for NBA 2K14 on PS4."

Exclusive to the PS4, Eco-Motion allows the video game to look and feel like a real NBA basketball game. Each player will perform and behave as they would in real life, and will differ based on the situation and the environment of the game at hand. "No two animations will ever appear exactly the same," Singh claimed.

"With Eco-Motion, the entire NBA experience comes to life in ways never before seen in a video game, including crowd reactions, atmosphere, coaching strategies, real player voices, and most of all the emotion of the game. Player animations are dynamic, and evolve on the fly as you play. Player personalities and emotions factor into the game as well, affecting how players perform and even behave on the court," Singh wrote.

While this is ground breaking for any basketball video game, 2K may also find a rival in EA Games with the resurrection of its NBA Live series. Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see how Eco-Motion will bring gaming to a new level.

NBA 2K14 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on the consoles launch dates.
