NBA All-Star Weekend is finally upon us and there is an exciting slate of action in store for us this weekend.

The NBA Slam Dunk Competition will take place on Saturday, and since it will be sponsored by Sprite, the hashtag #SPRITESLAM will be used on NBA.com/dunk. After the dunk competition is over you can use the hashtag to announce your vote for the winner of the competition.

The All-Star Game, on the other hand, will be taking place on Sunday night at 8 p.m. at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. According to NBA, this is only the second time that the All-Star Game has been in the city. The first time the city hosted the game was in 2008.

The lineups for both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference make up an impressive group of players despite one glaring injury in Kobe Bryant. The other four starters for the Western Conference are Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, and Kevin Love. For the Eastern Conference, Kyrie Irving, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George, and LeBron James make the starting five.

There are a number of other players on each team and the usual procedure for All-Star Games is to rotate players in and out so that all of the best players have a chance to participate.

The reserveses for the Western Conference are James Harden, Damian Lillard, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, LaMarcus Aldridge, Anthony Davis, Dirk Nowitzki, and Dwight Howard. For the Eastern Conference, DeMar DeRozan, Joe Johnson, John Wall, Chris Bosh, Paul Millsap, Roy Hibbert, and Joakim Noah make up the rest of the team.
