The undefeated boxer Gennady Golovkin earned a fan from his former opponent, Martin Murray, who believes David Lemieux will also suffer a stoppage loss from the Kazakh's punishing hands.

Murray, who was defeated by the knockout master "Triple G" via an 11th round TKO when they clashed in February in Monaco, per BoxRec, stated that the International Boxing Federation middleweight champion will bow in the early rounds against his former tormentor, who holds both the World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization crowns, Boxing News 24 reported.

"I think it's an easy fight for Golovkin. The only chance Lemieux's got is if he catches him with a lucky shot," Murray told IFL TV, as quoted by the boxing site.

Murray observed that although the Canadian boxer "punches well" and even "explosive" in the way he boxes, his performance may not be enough to secure a victory on Oct. 17 at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The U.K.-born boxer criticizes Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) to be "wide open," making him an easy target for an "exceptional fighter" like Golovkin, to put down in two to three rounds.

Golovkin's edge

The reigning pound-for-pound Floyd Mayweather Jr. believes that the mighty warrior's fighting style is too predictable, making him "too smart" for "Triple G."

"Even with me being at my weight, I'm just too smart... He's [Golovkin's] a solid puncher, but he's straight up and down ... really no special effects, at least not to me. You could see him coming straight ahead," Mayweather Jr. said, as quoted by Boxing Scene.

Yet, contrary to what "The Money" may be thinking, "GGG" is not what you will expect once you come face to face with him inside the ring, basing on Murray's statements.

"He's on you, like he was on me, and you think he's right in front of you, but he's not. He's got these little moves, these little side steps. He's got the footwork. You think he's there but he's not... The only way Lemieux beats him is if he catches him with a lucky shot, but they're building up the fight to make it seem like it's going to be a 50-50 fight, but I think it's going to be an easy night's work for Golovkin," Murray said.

Still, even though with these kinds of predictions, the IBF's pride vows to "shock the boxing world" in October, noted a separate report from Boxing Scene. Lemieux reportedly assures that he will "open the eyes of everyone" who will witness the much-anticipated middleweight unification match this fall.
